Broken road, and a dark path ahead,
No sense of direction, no sense where these roads are headed!
Looking back, these days seemed like a choice that was unwise,
For he knew, it was filled with lies;
All that gave him was hate and misery,
And caused him pain, that couldn’t be healed even with therapy.
Tough it was, living with hypocrites,
Tough it was, being surrounded by ungrateful cynics!
Those difficult days, drained him of hope,
And that’s when he realized his life headed towards a downward slope.
While the mind of his were still on those thoughts,
He kept driving on the mysterious path.
Looking back, he thought, he would eventually find something good,
Alas! All he could remember are those awful memories,
As there were some days, he did end up living in the streets!
Like many he did sacrifice his life, money and career,
But his only mistake, he did it on someone he thought would end up becoming his future.
It took long time for the wound to be sealed,
But he does know, if dug, it could bleed.
Like many, he did, want to give up,
So, he decided to live his final night in a grand way,
And he went to the bar, to have what he thought would be his last drink,
What he was unaware of how life changes in a moment of a blink,
And there she was,
Courage he had to speak up, for he thought this night would be his last,
The entire night may have still remain a blur to him, but these lines, he hasn’t still forgotten,
“Tonight, look up the stars,
And you’d know, there is always light.
Far from you they may be,
But they burn, so you’d clearly see.
Alone, people think they are in this world,
That leaves them scared, so weak that they can’t say another word.
Scars of the past, can hurt you like hell,
It can make your life miserable, like you’re trapped in a well.
But never for once think, that you’re alone,
You can get up on your own!
For there is no one more important than you,
And it is for yourself, in this maze, you have to pass through!
Try not to think for the world, for it is busy in debating on useless controversy,
And sometimes only discuss why the world is in a state of catastrophe.
So, the day you die, don’t think who’d be there to mourn,
For life is about living, so just move on.”
To date, he still reminisces,
Not to the times he collapsed,
But to the times that made him feel alive,
Driving through the unknown path,
Even today, he looks up the stars,
And looks forward on the path that is now clear,
For he knows that things could’ve been worse,
He has realized, there is nothing to gain if all he does is curse.
Although they did not end up together,
This did end up making him stronger,
For now he knew, not everyone stays forever,
He learned that life is a such a journey
Where we meet many, who teach us a thing or two,
And return to the world they came from.
He understood, death isn’t a bad thing after all,
It’s the fear of not living that would end up killing us all.
So why wait for something magical to happen,
Just drive, for the path is always new,
Don’t bother for not everyone has a clue,
Of where they belong,
And that’s what he did.
He walked out and started to drive,
And he looked up to the stars above,
And he said the below words, hoping to keep them in mind when things get tough:
“At times, when you feel low and are filled with stress,
Just look at the stars above, for everyone is in this state of mess,
There will be times when you’d feel broken,
There’d be times when you’d feel dead,
Just remember no one’s alone, it’s just a matter of reaching out,
It’s tough to reach out, so start small,
Work on what you love, let your heart lead you.
Let the light from the stars heal you,
Make sure you capture enough light in you,
For there will be times, when stars won’t be visible too.”
