Years of working hard, he had lost his hope that one day, this life would bring him peace.
Waking up and following that routine life,
To catch that scheduled rail, every day, he would strive!
Just another day of this charades he thought this would be,
But things never remain the same, and that day was one such instance,
Listening to the customized playlist of his, he continued his day.
Observing the entire crowded space, he could wonder what their stories would be.
Someone reading that fiction, that was a major hit,
While some listening to the old classics!
Gossip around the air, among that group of three,
Some kid, trying to get free, because of the unending curiosity.
And sometimes he could see familiar faces, living the same life.
Looking at this, did lighten his heart, as he starts his day,
Reaches his workspace and greets the ones he knew,
As the day kept going, he did feel exhausted,
Never was a point in his career, was his work appreciated,
By the end of the day, he kept asking himself, why he entered this field,
He just had his fake smile on him, and got up as he thought he was done for the day,
Well, the 9-5 job did think otherwise, and he had to stay back,
The energy to continue though, he did lack.
And finally, when he did leave, he looked around, there was not a single soul around him that he could see.
The walk back to get that rail, made him feel a bit frustrated,
A long weekend ahead it was, and the crowd did multiply,
He felt, how long would he let the job kill him like this
And this led him to again observe the things around him,
Looking around and guessing every one’s story,
He soon started to realise,
His life was far better than those whose life was filled with lies,
His heart, though broken, still had hope.
He could do better in life for he had so much more of strength and source that some did lack.
All he had to do was take that leap of faith,
But, he never did, for he lived in his comfort zone,
All this time, he just wanted to play it safe,
Forgetting his dreams to be free from things around him,
Yet giving his life a meaning!
All he wanted in life was to inspire someone,
So, he went back to his base,
And picked up his weapon that defined him truly,
He cleared the dust of the constant pressure of the society,
And started to write,
The feeling of purity started to flow back to him,
He wrote something of that sort after a while,
While writing, his eyes did fill, while he had a small smile,
For he knew, this is something people would like.
And he did not stop that night,
He went on for hours,
Until he finished his piece
That eventually gave his heart some peace!
All it took, was just another bad day,
And some stories to get him back on his way.
An unfulfilling circle, life is. We run and run and run only to eventually return at same spot we started, while expecting things to change.
It is often at such stages of life, people tend to forgo their happiness for the sake of things that matter for only some time, but I feel, life would be way better, if they did stick to what they love doing.
Hoping people realise the need of art. Let me know your thoughts on this and share it. On a side note, really grateful for the love I’ve recieved this year, with only a limited number of posts, I have recieved the highest number of views this year, and I appreciate this! Thank you.
I will be back with another great post, until then, #LIVEyOURLIFE !
Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary.
~Robin Williams (Dead Poets Society)
How hard can life be? Is there any way we could make life easier?
I honestly cannot answer those questions, but there’s something that could help us survive along this path we call life.
What is passion and why am I writing about it?
Every one would have their own meaning for it, but passion for me, is that fierce emotion that has kept me going for a lot of time.
But does it really matter, in a world where money runs things and we run after money, passion could be forgotten.
You’re only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.
There’s this small piece that I wrote, hope it helps!
I’ve been here for so long,
Writing about where we as humans belong.
For a while now, I’ve been singing this song,
Without knowing about the things around.
Naive, I may have been,
But, I was just following my dream.
Spreading the word of passion, spreading the word of love,
Many did try before me, but none of us want to evolve.
Does passion really matter?
I have been asking myself this for some time!
I don’t know why it took too long for me to answer,
For without it, my life here would really have been a disaster!
Everyday, I wake up and start my day,
I only see stories along the way.
I can see people, who are stuck with a routine,
I can see kids enjoying their first day as a teen.
I can see an old couple experiencing a movie, without getting offended,
And I can definitely see the capable ones staying silent.
Why is it, we are suffering this intolerable violence?
It could be physical, it could be mental, lord knows what.
May be, it could be because, we have stopped caring about art.
Can passion change humans?
I still remember, a kid from my school, who danced with only one hand.
His passion definitely brought mine back to life,
And only thing that did bother me was, how much did he have to strive!
I sit down and watch the news,
All I see is bunch of people screaming, just for some views.
Defaming anyone they feel is guilty,
While they just randomly, sip tea and coffee.
Deconstructing rhymes and lines just to find something that is not right,
Well, don’t you read the disclaimer, that it’s a work of fiction, and not every word should be right!
If they do love critiquing, how good would they be in writing?
Amazing I believe, for they can create a fake story, which can destroy a man’s history.
I look around and think,
In this situation, can passion really sustain?
If it doesn’t, the work of many generations would be in vain.
For I can assure that passion can bring the change,
For the voice of it, can reach ears and eyes of even those who aren’t in range.
A blind can feel art. A deaf can feel the music. A dumb can sing.
For there is nothing that can stop the passion within.
It’s like like the engine of the soul,
It’s the only thing that can help one reach their goal.
Getting up is never easy after they are down,
But when one has the passion,
They could easily win that crown.
But in reality, no one would want it,
For they know, they aren’t in for that.
I do say, passion can make every one a better person,
For it did teach me, the most important of lessons,
All you have to do in life, is keep going,
Even when you feel nothing has been moving.
How long has it been since I was away? Five months. That’s been a bit too long now, hasn’t it?
Let’s hope the next post doesn’t take this much time!
Do let me know your thoughts on Passion until then!
You know what music is? God’s little reminder that there’s something else besides us in this universe, harmonic connection between all living beings, everywhere, even the stars. ~Robin Williams
That wants to be a part of a story, you just read through?
Oh child, if all these are true,
Then, art has had it’s effect on you!
Could you just imagine a day now,
Where all you could do is work,
And your life would just go idly by,
No memories, no emotions, even if you’d want to, you couldn’t cry
Because, all you’d be is just a droid with a useless heart!
Music, art and poetry, help us make and shape our soul,
Oh Child, so why do we mock them, for they are the one makes us human!
There are some creations that give us hope,
There are some pieces that help us gain control,
There are some songs that reminds us of our home!
Art is something, connects us all,
Art can bring peace in the midst of a war,
Art is all I could ask for,
Because darling, art is the language of love!
I wouldn’t have heard or seen an artist piece, never has there been a day,
And never will I deny that, their work has changed me in a way.
If you know me or have read my old posts, you may know how much I love art and artists too. Art has changed me, in a way, I could never explain. Art is an essential tool for survival, if you have been following my blog, you’d remember a post wherein, I looked into what would’ve happened if there was no art.
But, why is art important though?
Art is a result of curiosity and satisfaction. A human mind, over the years has used creativity to grow as a species, today, we use that creativity to channel a part of our soul into our creations, that is why we it is easy as a human for us to connect ourselves to any art, be it a song, an art or even a simple poetry.
Art, today has become a food for our soul, and that is why it helps us be ourselves. It helps us be in control and that is why, it ends us giving hope that one day, our life will also be perfect, just like that piece of art.
To put it in a different way, art provides us with a sense of belonging. As, human is a social creature in the end, we love to belong to a group we closely relate ourselves with. And most of the times it wouldn’t be difficult for us to notice that art is just a reflection of our culture.
Art sometimes helps us being emotional. It makes sure our soul has felt something, and when our soul feels something, it makes us more human. We may have created art, but in the end, art is the one that shaped us.
Many artists over the years have left a mark in the human history, but not all may be relevant to our time and lifestyle, so I’d love to leave you with a few words by a couple of great artists:
You could read more about how art affects us through over here:
After I read a lot about how art actually shaped us, I’m proud to say that I’m a fellow artist. Thank you for reading, do let me know what your thoughts on art are! I’ll be back with another post (soon, I hope) until then, #LIVE_yOUR_LIFE and #StandUpForHumanity. I’ll leave it unto you to decide whether art is necessary!
Stop your unnecessary hatred, for I know art is the need of the hour,
Let us be and let us bring that art to life, which you want to censor.
Oh my, that hurts your tolerant brain,
Oh my, but you said the idea of intolerance is just in our brain!
Scaring us of, by attempting to hurt us and our family,
Man, now this just crosses the line, silly.
I tried to stay out of this cat-fight,
But it’s about time, I bring these facts in to the light.
Freedom may be just a myth,
Cause, privacy doesn’t even exist.
PS. Did I mention this applies to those only who are innocent!
“Let the crime happen,
Then let’s blame everyone else, it’d befun.
We’ll slide in to those DM’s by our media,
Cause, who on earth actually cares about sources!
Solving the problem temporarily, is how we roll,
Ruling for 5 years, indefinitely is our goal.
Development will be provided, to our team,
And let’s give the public a new topic to bash about.”
I’m sick and tired of the politicizing of the smallest of things,
Well, what can we expect from the people who would actually prefer an animal to a human.
Here’s a newsflash guys, humans are animals too,
Large species eat smaller species,
That’s simple science!
Sorry, you guys may not understand that,
Maybe because, one of you believe, artificial satellites existed centuries ago.
We gave the world zero,
But you make us look zero.
Then there those, who feel nepotism rocks.
Why is it so hard for you guys to see?
That democracy is efficient only when the nation is corruption and red-tapism free!
We need security and safety,
Sometimes, we seek some transparency.
Stop trying to curb our freedom,
To speak, to eat and to love,
Let go of your laundering skills
And actually give us development.
Give us education, and get yourself educated
Give us jobs, and get yourself some taxes
Give us better public infrastructure, and get yourself our trust.
And, maybe we will share the happiness, by giving you the power for the next 5 years and getting back the ‘JUST’.
In all honesty, we have fallen a lot to build the empire that stands tall today, but, we shouldn’t forget, who we are and what actual freedom is. We chose democracy, for stability and growth, but if it fails to deliver that, then something is wrong.
But there are some still dying of hunger and are still thirsty,
And all we do is say, “Oh, what a pity!”
A man expresses his feelings, by crying,
Gets bashed, for being a sissy.
Oh, but look at that tomboy, whom we end up complimenting.
She expresses her opinion but is ignored totally.
He gives the same opinion and is rewarded, well, that’s funny,
Because, this is what we call equality.
Humanity, someone says it exists,
But, wasn’t he the one who was back-bitching about one of his “ex-es”!
A child gets bullied, ain’t that fault of the bully’s parent?
“Oh no, why would we teach our kids to bully!”
Er, you could teach them not to do that!
Or presumably help them sort their mental health out!
We criticize the victims of rape and harrasments being weak,
But, never have we understood the necessity to teach.
Teach your child, it’s not okay to hurt others, mentally and physically.
Teach them the need of responsibility.
Only then, we will be free.
Only then, we will truly deserve peace.
Also, Teach the one you know, those drugs would end up being costly.
If they don’t listen, let them go, you don’t need that kind of negativity.
No matter how petty it is.
It is capable of achieving great things.
Hope you liked this one. Do give in your views in the comment section below, will be back with another amazing post, until then #LIVEyOURLIFE. Go ahead and like and share this post and #StandUpForHumanity.
Dead leaves on the ground, chilly and breezy wind felt my face as I walked across some of my mates.
The whole group was shouting and laughing, being a human, curiosity filled a part of my brain.
A seemingly weak kid was being ridiculed on and picked upon; he unwillingly had a face, with an awkward smile on.
None could see that pain, that kid was going through just to join in on the fun.
Why would someone do that? I started to ponder.
But, everyone would call me a stupid for searching that answer.
All started to make sense as I observed the scene,
All that kid wanted was to be a part of a team.
Though for many, funny it may seem,
This is a reality, everyone chooses to overlook
Your manliness is judged, if you can’t handle, weak in their eyes you look.
As the group left, the kid was all left alone,
He tried to keep himself busy, but couldn’t concentrate, reasons still unknown.
He looked here and there, yet unable to pass the time,
He kept a face that was similar to a dead guy.
Nobody from that group could recognize the damage they caused and all they would do is deny.
I waited to figure out why he had gone through with that pain without any complain.
And I could see, all he wanted was to be accepted as a social person,
Being an introvert, he knew not how to act in front of people.
Being an artist, he knew not how to converse on useless topics.
Being a novice, all he knew was society considered someone to be of value, when somebody gives you respect or when you are a part of a so called well-reputed group.
The torture he had to go through to lock up his soul,
The silent screams he had to make, when he had to forgo his talents,
The strength he had to gather to lose his self-respect.
All that hurting just to cope up with some reckless bullying.
When will this society stand up against this terrorizing activity!
All they do is give it respect and make it grow.
I say, it is time we stand up and rise against this frightening activity which is still hidden inside many.
And give those bullies what they truly deserve.
Choose your company wisely.
Supporting a bully is worse than being one.
Laughing on that kid, is the worst thing one can do,
All he needs a little help to achieve his dreams.
Humanity means standing up for someone, not ridiculing them for fun.
Bullying is the use of force, threat or coercion to abuse, intimidate or aggressively dominate others or in simple terms; it is just use superior strength or influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force them to do something. The behavior is often repeated and habitual. One essential prerequisite is the perception, by the bully or by others, of an imbalance of social or physical power, which distinguishes bullying from conflict.
There are many types of bullying. If you are a person with authority, please be aware of these.
“People who love themselves, don’t hurt other people. The more we hate ourselves, the more we want others to suffer.”
― Dan Pearce, Single Dad Laughing
Individual bullying tactics can be perpetrated by a single person against a target or targets.
This is any bullying that hurts someone’s body or damages their possessions. Stealing, shoving, hitting, fighting, and destroying property all are types of physical bullying.
This is any bullying that is conducted by speaking. Calling names, spreading rumors, threatening somebody, and making fun of others are all forms of verbal bullying. Verbal bullying is one of the most common types of bullying. In verbal bullying the main weapon the bully uses is their voice.
This is any bullying that is done with the intent to hurt somebody’s reputation or social standing which can also link in with the techniques included in physical and verbal bullying. Relational Bullying is a form of bullying common amongst youth. Unlike physical bullying which is obvious, relational bullying is not overt and can continue for a long time without being noticed.
Cyber bullying is the use of technology to harass, threaten, embarrass, or target another person. When an adult is involved, it may meet the definition of cyber-harassment or cyberstalking, a crime that can have legal consequences and involve jail time. This includes email, instant messaging, social networking sites (such as Facebook), text messages, and cell phones.
Collective bullying tactics are employed by more than one individual against a target or targets.
Mobbing refers to the bullying of an individual by a group, in any context, such as a family, peer group, school, workplace, neighborhood, community, or online. When it occurs as emotional abuse in the workplace, such as “ganging up” by co-workers, subordinates or superiors, to force someone out of the workplace through rumor, innuendo, intimidation, humiliation, discrediting, and isolation.
Mona O’Moore of the Anti-Bullying Centre at Trinity College in Dublin, has written, “There is a growing body of research which indicates that individuals, whether child or adult, who are persistently subjected to abusive behavior are at risk of stress related illness which can sometimes lead to suicide”. Those who have been the targets of bullying can suffer from long term emotional and behavioral problems. Bullying can cause loneliness, depression, anxiety, lead to low self-esteem and increased susceptibility to illness. Bullying has also been shown to cause maladjustment in young children, and targets of bullying who were also bullies themselves exhibit even greater social difficulties.
“They will hate you if you are beautiful. They will hate you if you are successful. They will hate you if you are right. They will hate you if you are popular. They will hate you when you get attention. They will hate you when people in their life like you. They will hate you if you worship a different version of their God. They will hate you if you are spiritual. They will hate you if you have courage. They will hate you if you have an opinion. They will hate you when people support you. They will hate you when they see you happy. Heck, they will hate you while they post prayers and religious quotes on Pinterest and Facebook. They just hate. However, remember this: They hate you because you represent something they feel they don’t have. It really isn’t about you. It is about the hatred they have for themselves. So smile today because there is something you are doing right that has a lot of people thinking about you.”
― Shannon L. Alder
It is a major attributer for suicides and unwanted violence among many people. To know more, you can visit the following links:
Over 3.2 million students are victims of bullying each year.
Approximately 160,000 teens skip school every day because of bullying.
17% of American students report being bullied 2 to 3 times a month or more within a school semester. Take a stand in your community by hosting a Bullying Policy Makeover event customizing your school’s anti-bullying policy.
1 in 4 teachers see nothing wrong with bullying and will only intervene 4% of the time.
By age 14 less than 30% of boys and 40% of girls will talk to their peers about bullying.
Over 67% of students believe that schools respond poorly to bullying, with a high percentage of students believing that adult help is infrequent and ineffective.
As boys age they are less and less likely to feel sympathy for victims of bullying. In fact they are more likely to add to the problem than solve it.
