Passion

Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary.

~Robin Williams (Dead Poets Society)

How hard can life be? Is there any way we could make life easier?

I honestly cannot answer those questions, but there’s something that could help us survive along this path we call life.

Passion.

What is passion and why am I writing about it?

Every one would have their own meaning for it, but passion for me, is that fierce emotion that has kept me going for a lot of time.

But does it really matter, in a world where money runs things and we run after money, passion could be forgotten.

You’re only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.
~Robin Williams

There’s this small piece that I wrote, hope it helps!

I’ve been here for so long,
Writing about where we as humans belong.
For a while now, I’ve been singing this song,
Without knowing about the things around.
Naive, I may have been,
But, I was just following my dream.
Spreading the word of passion, spreading the word of love,
Many did try before me, but none of us want to evolve.
Does passion really matter?
I have been asking myself this for some time!
I don’t know why it took too long for me to answer,
For without it, my life here would really have been a disaster!

Everyday, I wake up and start my day,
I only see stories along the way.
I can see people, who are stuck with a routine,
I can see kids enjoying their first day as a teen.
I can see an old couple experiencing a movie, without getting offended,
And I can definitely see the capable ones staying silent.
Why is it, we are suffering this intolerable violence?
It could be physical, it could be mental, lord knows what.
May be, it could be because, we have stopped caring about art.
Can passion change humans?
I still remember, a kid from my school, who danced with only one hand.
His passion definitely brought mine back to life,
And only thing that did bother me was, how much did he have to strive!

I sit down and watch the news,
All I see is bunch of people screaming, just for some views.
Defaming anyone they feel is guilty,
While they just randomly, sip tea and coffee.
Deconstructing rhymes and lines just to find something that is not right,
Well, don’t you read the disclaimer, that it’s a work of fiction, and not every word should be right!
If they do love critiquing, how good would they be in writing?
Amazing I believe, for they can create a fake story, which can destroy a man’s history.
I look around and think,
In this situation, can passion really sustain?
If it doesn’t, the work of many generations would be in vain.
For I can assure that passion can bring the change,
For the voice of it, can reach ears and eyes of even those who aren’t in range.

A blind can feel art. A deaf can feel the music. A dumb can sing.
For there is nothing that can stop the passion within.
It’s like like the engine of the soul,
It’s the only thing that can help one reach their goal.
Getting up is never easy after they are down,
But when one has the passion,
They could easily win that crown.
But in reality, no one would want it,
For they know, they aren’t in for that.
I do say, passion can make every one a better person,
For it did teach me, the most important of lessons,
All you have to do in life, is keep going,
Even when you feel nothing has been moving.

How long has it been since I was away? Five months. That’s been a bit too long now, hasn’t it?

Let’s hope the next post doesn’t take this much time!

Do let me know your thoughts on Passion until then!

You know what music is? God’s little reminder that there’s something else besides us in this universe, harmonic connection between all living beings, everywhere, even the stars.

Is Art Necessary!

Is there a part of you,

That loves to hum to your favourite tune?

Is there a part of you,

That wants to be a part of a story, you just read through?

Oh child, if all these are true,

Then, art has had it’s effect on you!

Could you just imagine a day now,

Where all you could do is work,

And your life would just go idly by,

No memories, no emotions, even if you’d want to, you couldn’t cry

Because, all you’d be is just a droid with a useless heart!

Music, art and poetry, help us make and shape our soul,

Oh Child, so why do we mock them, for they are the one makes us human!

There are some creations that give us hope,

There are some pieces that help us gain control,

There are some songs that reminds us of our home!

Art is something, connects us all,

Art can bring peace in the midst of a war,

Art is all I could ask for,

Because darling, art is the language of love!

I wouldn’t have heard or seen an artist piece, never has there been a day,

And never will I deny that, their work has changed me in a way.

If you know me or have read my old posts, you may know how much I love art and artists too. Art has changed me, in a way, I could never explain. Art is an essential tool for survival, if you have been following my blog, you’d remember a post wherein, I looked into what would’ve happened if there was no art.

But, why is art important though?

Art is a result of curiosity and satisfaction. A human mind, over the years has used creativity to grow as a species, today, we use that creativity to channel a part of our soul into our creations, that is why we it is easy as a human for us to connect ourselves to any art, be it a song, an art or even a simple poetry.

Art, today has become a food for our soul, and that is why it helps us be ourselves. It helps us be in control and that is why, it ends us giving hope that one day, our life will also be perfect, just like that piece of art.

To put it in a different way, art provides us with a sense of belonging. As, human is a social creature in the end, we love to belong to a group we closely relate ourselves with. And most of the times it wouldn’t be difficult for us to notice that art is just a reflection of our culture.

Art sometimes helps us being emotional. It makes sure our soul has felt something, and when our soul feels something, it makes us more human. We may have created art, but in the end, art is the one that shaped us.

Many artists over the years have left a mark in the human history, but not all may be relevant to our time and lifestyle, so I’d love to leave you with a few words by a couple of great artists:

Dead Poets Society-01Stan lee-01

You could read more about how art affects us through over here:

Why do humans make art!

After I read a lot about how art actually shaped us, I’m proud to say that I’m a fellow artist. Thank you for reading, do let me know what your thoughts on art are! I’ll be back with another post (soon, I hope) until then, #LIVE_yOUR_LIFE and #StandUpForHumanity. I’ll leave it unto you to decide whether art is necessary!

Life without ART!

“PAINTING IS JUST ANOTHER WAY OF KEEPING A DIARY!”

Answer this:

How would it be if there would not be any laughter? How would it feel if no one had a sense of humour?
Any thought on that?? Good, Bad or worst??

If your answer is any way in positive, I feel sorry for you…
Anyhow, I want to ask you another question…

What if there was no art in it??

Yes, ART… It could be in any form dance, music, literature, painting, etc..

I asked few people the same question!

I’m combining the answers altogether:

“Art is about self-expression and creativity. Creativity gave birth to everything currently… And if there was no art, there would have been a great void in the world; it would have made the world colourless.  For example, “Wheel” it may look like a small circled thing, but the invention of it gave birth to transportation; it helped textile industry, electricity and many things.
No art means thinking inside the box, in short keeping the human brain locked up in a prison. That way, there would be no creativity. When there’s no creativity, there would be no innovation that would stop the progress in any field!
Human being has a bundle of wants; art plays a vital role in satisfying it! We require music, books etc., to keep us entertained! Sometimes they also help us get out of depression; it is a friend that stays with us no matter what.
Human beings are given an upper hand for a simple reason, they are creative, and a human himself is an art! A beautiful creation! If we take out the creativity, what would be the difference between humans and the other animals?
In Simpler words, Life Without Art is similar to life without breath.”

The best part was, no one gave similar answer. Everyone had something different to answer. It is not surprising that no two people gave similar answer to even what art is…

You can compare different dictionaries, not many words would be given similar definition.
So, that shows how important art is! We have lived in this world for millenniums… The reason why we have come this far is only because of art…

You might be wondering, ‘how can everyone answer for the support of creativity?’

Well, I asked people of different age groups! Out of all the people who answered the question, only one person had something against creativity. That person said, “Everything has a positive and a negative effect. Creativity is just expanding our thinking capacity. Good creativity led to the discovery of pen whereas bad creativity led to the discovery of weapons. It’s just how one uses the power. So, in one way the absence of creativity might lead to no peace, no harmony, whereas it might end up the production of things which are harmful to us.”

To that I want to answer one thing, if weapons weren’t discovered there would have not been any human kind alive, the early men used the weapons for protection from dangerous creatures. Now, we might not require any weapons, but that guy said it himself, it all depends on how you use it.
A friend of mine asked me, “Hey, you scored amazing marks, why aren’t you trying in any top 10 colleges?”

C’mon, marks won’t keep you happy. Yes, my mark is good, I could have gotten in few of those top colleges, but why should I select them? Where ever I end up going, all I would do is dig into my creativity.

“ART IS THE MOST INTENSE FORM OF INDIVIDUALISM THAT THE WORLD HAS KNOWN.”
~OSCAR WILDE

We have ended up with a generation in which, 50% of the population doesn’t even know they are creative, 25% are aware of their creativity but are following the society and who end up calling the successful people “lucky”, 15% want to follow their passion but they don’t just because of what the society would think, the remaining 10% of the population are the one who chase their passion and encourage their as well as everyone’s creativity.
Ever heard of this?

“YOU ARE THE CREATOR OF YOUR OWN DESTINY”
~Swami Vivekananda

When something is created, the person who makes it doesn’t start with the direct idea of making it, he feels something has to be made for this reason, for example, the creator of umbrella wanted to make something to save him from getting wet or to escape the extreme heat, that’s when his creativity kicked in!

“THE AIM OF ART IS TO REPRESENT NOT THE OUTWARD APPEARANCE OF THINGS, BUT THEIR INWARD SIGNIFICANE.”
~ ARISTOTLE

Art acts the same way salt acts to food, but the only difference is, the more the art, the happier may the life be! Art is just like meditating, it brings out the feelings of the inner soul, which is very hard to describe. That’s the reason why it is difficult for people to describe, poems, songs, paintings etc., in words, it reflects the inner language!

If people would make their passion to their profession, the world might be a better place or the least they could do is encourage others, instead of criticizing it! The path may be difficult, harsh and may seem impossible to reach, but the journey, the life is worth the pain!
I almost forgot one of the best sayings on art:

“EARTH WITHOUT ART IS JUST ‘EH’!”
~Unknown.

Few days back, I met one of my cousins after a gap of around 10 years, almost at the end of the conversation, he asked me, “You don’t talk much?” I simply answered, “Ha-ha! Being a poet, I let my poems do the talking!”
In my words, everyone is a born as a poem and goes on becoming a poet when he starts to live the life!

“IF ART IS TO NOURISH THE ROOTS OF OUR CULTURE SOCIETY MUST SET THE ARTIST FREE TO FOLLOW HIS VISION WHERE-EVER IT TAKES HIM.”
~ JOHN F. KENNEDY

So, art and creativity do play a major role in this world.. But it also matters how you one uses it!
I thank everyone who gave in their opinion… Do tell, what your opinion is.. I’ll be back with another amazing post.. Until then, just LIVE yOUR LIFE!
